Is Money The Most Important Thing In The World?

Money indeed plays such an important part in people’s lives. However, it is not the most important thing in the world, but then again it is defined to be the main tool to actually help people attain what they want as well as what they need. Money may be valuable, but they’re not the most valuable. Money can basically help you get things that you want and need but money doesn’t buy things that actually matter.

[su_quote cite=”Kent Nerburn” class=”cust-pagination”]“Money is central to our lives. Yet money is not of central importance. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the lasting values that make life worth living[/su_quote]

A perfect example of this is the late Steve Jobs, the man behind Apple Inc. He earns billions of dollars a year, but then when cancer hits him, no amount of money could actually save his life. Money may indeed be extremely important for people to survive and people who says otherwise are totally believing in something else, but is that really the idea of living? Here are couple of things that are far more important than money.

TIME

[su_quote cite=”Tony A. Gaskins Jr.” class=”cust-pagination”]“Money spent is meaningless, but time spent is priceless[/su_quote].”
There is no doubt that time is actually way more valuable than money. Simply because, time is something that you give but can never take back, you can never borrow time. Every single minute of the day must be cherish and spent wisely. If you want to waste money then my all means go ahead, you can always earn it back or get it back in any way possible. A time that is properly invested is considered as a fortune.

The perfect example of this is the time you spend with your loved ones. The problem with most parents who are so busy making so much money, is that they forget that no amount of money can buy memories with their children. They grow up really fast and each day goes by they would long for their parents’ hugs and kisses. They may be rich when it comes to money, but when it comes to time, they sure are poor.

GRATITUDE

Money can really change a person, and unfortunately, it is often in a negative way. Just like the difference between getting rich and getting money. A person who is getting rich is simply working hard with extreme dedication, so the money is the fruit of the labor. The main goal is to attain and establish self-esteem. That is why the more creative they become, the wiser they get when it comes to investing their money. However, a person who is simply getting money, with no goals or no ambitions. This person wouldn’t care what he or she has to do just for her to get money. This is why some people tend to forget where they actually come from, and they would make people feel like they are superior compared to them.

Gratitude is something that can never be bought, it is a certain feeling and a realization that people must always have in mind. Money can buy a lot of things, but if you’re not grateful for everything you have then you will keep wanting more, until you realize you’re only aiming for things that money can’t buy and you’re being too blind to see every beautiful thing that actually matters.

MEMORIES

Money does take part in making memories, however, it is also something that no amount of money can take away from you, it is something that you will remember for the rest of your life. So invest money to help you make memories instead of wasting your money over material things that can always be replaced.

[su_quote cite=”Unknown” class=”cust-pagination”] “In today’s materialistic world, there is a risk of people becoming slaves to money, as though they were simply cogs in a huge money-making machine. This does nothing for human dignity, freedom, and genuine well-being. Wealth should serve humanity, and not the other way around.”[/su_quote].”

Money does matter but it is not the only thing that matters. Money does play a big part of people’s lives, but it is not the reason why we are living. Open your eyes and you will see everything that are more important than money, and you’ll realize that the world is such a beautiful place to live in.
