How Novak Djokovic Lived Through 2 Wars to Become a Tennis Legend

Novak Djokovic is more than just a tennis legend who has ruled over the industry as one of the finest sportsmen of this century. The tennis champion is also a survivor who lived through two wars in 1992 and 1999 as a child. He and his family struggled for years, waiting for hours in queues to get milk and bread to survive.

Djokovic didn’t just survive, he beat all odds to become one of the greatest sportsmen on the face of the earth. Djokovic married Jelena Ristic, his childhood friend whom he met in high school and fell in love with. The childhood sweethearts married a few years ago and are proud parents to their son, Stefan.

The tennis player speaks English fluently as well as some European languages like German, Italian, and Serbian. He is one of the richest sportsmen in the business, but Novak Djokovic doesn’t spend his wealth just on himself. He has partaken in many philanthropic efforts to give back to his community. He even started “Novak Djokovic Foundation” responsible for supporting kids in Serbia, disadvantaged kids, and orphans who lost their parents in wars.

Djokovic may be a champion on a clay court, but he is animated outside the court. The player can impersonate people like Andre Agassi, Maria Sharapova, and many others. One weird thing he does is eat grass whenever he comes to Wimbledon. We cannot forget that he will talk to himself whenever he is playing with an opponent.
