How Jamie Lee Curtis Made Box Office History With Halloween

Jamie Lee Curtis is a legend when it comes to horror movies. The actress has made history with Halloween that smashed box office records in first week of release. The horror genre are usually less profitable than its counterparts but Curtis’ film was able to earn $75 million in the first week, a feat nothing short of remarkable.

As lead female above the age of 55, Curtis has created a role that is difficult to ignore. She accepted the role after reading a few pages of the script that was written by Jeff Fradley, Danny McBride and director David Gordon Green.

Halloween is a film based on real life events, set forty years ago when notorious Mike Myers made headlines in Haddonfield. Laurie Strode who survived Myers’ attack has not forgiven and forgotten the incident. The movie told the story of Strode in a way every viewer would understand what went wrong in Haddonfield.

She is a successful and famous actress who has been on the big screen since childhood. She grew up famous because her parents were famous. However, she struggled with stardom while growing up as she tried to understand her identity.  She ended up in three high schools before graduating because of the many dramas happening around her.
